What is WTRL TTT?

WTRL TTT is the most addictive, fun yet brutal form of racing on Zwift! Not only do you get to race with your clubmates for the fastest possible time, but you have to work and suffer together to achieve this. There are many strategies and tactics to a team time trial, all of which can be seen on all 3 UCI Grand Tours (Tour de France, Giro d’Italia, and the Vuelta a Espana) and other events throughout the year.

There is a pretty good list of rules and strategies here.

What do I need?

  • A turbo trainer, smart, or not
  • A power meter
  • Zwift: get started

Optional

  • Discord
  • WhatsApp
  • Zwift Companion App
Wahoo Kickr
WRTL TTT BTS2

When is it?

Every Thursdays at 18:05

How do I join?

  • Register your interest at the beginning of each week using the BTS doodle poll
  • Leave your phone number to one of the committee members to be added to the WhatsApp group

Before the race

  • Edit your profile last name on Zwift to add your team name. E.g. Salmon (BTS)
  • Create an account on Zwift power
  • Edit your Rider name on Zwift power with your team name. E.g. Olivier Salmon (BTS)
    • Click on your profile icon on the top right, select Zwift profile then click on the Setting tab

Tips & tricks

  • Leave plenty of time to connect to Zwift and go to the event. After the event start time, you won’t be allowed in the pen even if your team start time is later on
  • Stop pedaling 30 seconds before the start of the event so your turbo trainer has 0 watts and your avatar doesn’t move before it’s meant to
  • If you want to keep warm, go to the pairing screen on Zwift (Menu > Pair) where you can keep pedaling
  • Don’t go too hard at the start, maintain around 200 watts until the team members are all there
