Tired from her virtual Duathlon on the weekend, Andrea pulled out of the Monday running event. She decided to concentrate on the Friday bike race, hoping to bring another 15 points for BTS.
However, she faced – again – a technical hurdle. In her own words (Instagram @bikehikeclimbrun): it started, poised, warmed up, ready for another speedy week … and where I waved goodbye to first place because Zwift and I have communication problems 😂.
Meanwhile, in the men’s team, the atmosphere was festive and optimistic in our BTS members’ WhatsApp group, before Monday’s bike race.
“I don’t know if I’m ready but I’ll be on the start line😉 ”
“I won’t race tonight, but will be on the starting line to and do my planned training session.”
“I’ll try and race it”
“Yep. Haribo’s… Tick. Red Bull… Tick. Lucky underpants… Tick. See you there.”
“Got my excuse in early”
“I’ll be there full of dinner, so you might be glad it’s virtual!”
“10 laps… sounds worse than Dorney”
“I’m just wondering when I’m going to get lapped”
The race is on, heads are down, pedals to the metal. Soon, we have many exhausted triathletes in their pain cave, some being silent, some still able to text.
“Well done all, that was brutal. Wow.”
Well done to Chris (27th), Steve W.(62nd), Mark (80th), Andrea (117th), Liam (122nd), Michael (164th), Olivier (262nd), and Steve D.(285th),
On the run race, we only got 2 points, with Mark finishing 37th and Olivier 44th.
