Safety Statement
I acknowledge that triathlon training and racing involves a degree of risk. I am aware that there is no lifeguard cover at the pool or if lake swimming with BTS members. Should I wish to swim for training purposes,I will do so voluntarily and take full responsibility for any risk or loss, property damage or personal injury that may be sustained by me at any time. I confirm that I will wear a currently approved cycle helmet on all club rides and a brightly coloured swim hat when swimming in the lake. I confirm that I will ask for advice if I am not familiar with the use of BTS spinning bikes. I understand that whilst these bikes are the joint property of BTS members (including me whilst I am a member), BTS accept no liability for any loss or injury howsoever caused during their use. I accept that I take full responsibility for my own safety and I can in no way hold Berkshire Tri Squad responsible for any injury or damage howsoever caused.
Code of Conduct for Berkshire Tri Squad Club Members
BTS is fully committed to safeguarding and promoting the well being of all its members. The club believes that it is important that members, coaches, administrators and parents associated with the club should, at all times, show respect and understanding for the safety and welfare of others. Therefore, members are encouraged to be open at all times and to share any concerns or complaints that they may have about any aspect of the club with our Club Secretary.
As a member of BTS you are expected to abide by the following member’s code of conduct:
- All members must play within the rules and respect officials and their decisions.
- All members must have read the Club Rules and Etiquette and agree to abide by them.
- All members must respect the rights, dignity and worth of all participants regardless of gender, ability, cultural background or religion.
- Members should keep to agreed timings for training and competitions or inform their coach or team manager if they are going to be late.
- Members must support and encourage good practice and correct actions at all times
- Members must wear suitable kit for training sessions, as agreed with the coach/team manager.
- Members must pay any fees for training or events promptly.
- Members are not allowed to smoke on club premises or whilst representing the club at competitions.
- Members are not allowed to consume alcohol or drugs of any kind on the club premises or whilst representing the club.
- Members are encouraged to communicate with leaders and all other club members
Club Rules
These rules may be amended from time to time at the discretion of the committee. All changes will be publicised to members.
Serious disregard or breaches of these rules reported to the committee may result in the offending member being expelled from the club. The Club’s disciplinary procedure will be applied.
GENERAL
1) Members agree not to bring the Club into disrepute
2) Members agree upon and have signed a Code of Conduct
3) Members must abide by the rules and articles of British Triathlon
TRAINING
1) Members are expected to behave in the manner described in the BTS Etiquette for the relevant discipline
COMPETITION
1) Members must obey all rules relating to the event they are competing in and compete in a sportsman-like manner
