All club ride for this Saturday, February 22nd will leave Barry Avenue (Windsor) at 9am.
Club Ride ‘A’ – February 22nd – 101km
The weather currently looks dry, warmish and not blowing a gale so we’ll head to Hook, to a new café – see link below
Anyway back to the route it’s 101km with 625m of climbing and features the western end of 6-mile ride (so the easy flattish and not so busy bit as opposed to Jeeves last weeks ride!).
Club Ride ‘B’ – February 22nd – 90km
Now storms C and D have passed, a weekend of calmer weather offers the perfect opportunity to get out and enjoy the fresh air again.
For this weekend’s B ride I thought we would make the most of the Spring like temperatures and plan to go West to Englefield and the its two open air cafes again, in an attempt to expunge the memory of our “ice ride” to the same destination earlier in the year.
According to the AA there may be some roads still closed due to flooding in the Burghfield area (if anyone has any local knowledge that contradicts this please let me know), so I have a backup route in mind for that section, via Calcot and the A4 .
The route is about 90km to/from Windsor and mostly flat, with some short hills on the way home after Pangbourne.
The gpx attached is for the ‘usual’ route, not the floods version.
Club Ride ‘C’ – February 22nd – 42km
A gentle reminder of what our bikes look like now the weather has improved.
We’ll head out via Datchet and Old Windsor and up to the Park via Crimp hill.
We’ll pop out the top of the park and head off to Drift Rd, Maidens Green and Hawthorne Hill for a coffee at Ferneygrove.
The route back can be via Touchen End/Fifield.
