Instructions for the Raffle.

With 99% of the racing season out of the way, it was time to relax and enjoy the 2017 BTS Annual Awards banquet. Organised this year by Kate Robinson and held for the first time at the MacDonald Hotel in Windsor, it was a great chance to enjoy some great food, a bit of banter and the opportunity to have a chat when not dressed in lycra.

Over the course of dinner, the Club awarded a number of prizes to those deserving recognition of their efforts. Whilst not everyone appreciated being a winner – let’s just say next year we would like NO entries in the Flying Dismount category – all was awarded with good humour and some good gifts to make up for the recognition.

Awards were given in over 20 categories, with trophies changing hands in the men’s races, but staying put on the ladies side. Several newcomers were also recognised and it was great to see a variety of individuals to cheer, applaud, mock and generally admire all the people who make the club what it is.

Once the awards were given, the auction and raffle began raising money for our chosen charity Maidenhead Cycle Hub. Ranging in size from physio sessions to cake, and from handmade medal displays to a chance to ride in the Volvo team car for Madison Genesis – there was something for every member. All in all, a pretty great way to end the season.
